What are control joints used for?

Control joints are used to provide breaks and define edges when laying free-flowing self-levelling liquid screeds. As screed expands and contracts with changes in temperature while it’s drying, screeders use control joints to induce cracks in a straight line in a known location.

Can the control joints be trimmed?

Yes – these can to cut to length using a fine tooth saw or hacksaw.

How do I adjust them for height?

The ‘piggyback’ control joints can be configured to work at 40mm or 45mm material depths by simply rotating the strip.

Do I need to cut notches for UFH pipes?

There is no need to notch with our ‘piggyback’ control joint range, as the joint sits over the UFH pipes.
