Suitable for clay, PVC & cast iron pipe systems with easy push fit installation in the inlet of a drainage chamber.

Is the stated size of the Metex Non-Return Valves an internal diameter?
Yes – for example the 110mm valve is designed to fit pipes which have a 110mm internal diameter.
Can I install a Metex Non-Return Valve myself, or do I need a professional?
While in many cases the valve is easy enough to install by pushing it into the desired outlet location, we recommend using a drainage professional to ensure proper fitment and functionality especially if you’re unsure about the location of your inlet or outlet positions or if the pipework requires alteration.
Can Metex Non-Return Valves be used in existing pipework?
Yes – the non return valve is designed to fit inside existing 110mm/150mm pipes and is a retrofit solution where additional backflow protection is required
Can Metex Non-Return Valves be removed or accessed later?
Yes – the retro fit solution allows for easy removal for inspection, cleaning and maintenance.
Does the Metex Non-Return Valve need any maintenance?
We recommend inspecting and cleaning the valve every 6-12 months, especially in high-use or dirty drainage systems, to ensure smooth operation and no obstructions. Avoid flushing anything other than human waste and toilet paper, as items like wet wipes, sanitary products or food waste can cause blockages.
Are Metex Non-Return Valves resistant to chemicals like caustic acids?
As there are hundreds of different caustic acid solutions, resistance depends on the type & concentration of the acid.
Are the Metex Non-Return Valves suitable for use in pest control?
While the stainless steel door offers some resistance to rodents, the primary purpose of these valves is preventing backflow and odours. For pest control, we recommend rat blockers designed for that purpose.
