Rotating tools like angle grinders and circular saws are one of the most dangerous tools in industry and agriculture, with over 5000 injuries recorded in the UK each year. Workers often hold bricks, blocks or paving slabs in place with a foot when cutting them on site but running a rotating blade right next to your toes means risking injuries. That is why we recommend using an easy mitre block like Grindermate for your cuts – with no setup time needed.

What is GrinderMate used for?

Grindermate is a simple, light mitre block designed for cutting brick, blocks and paving slabs on site safely. It helps you make straight, accurate cuts with an angle grinder or circular saw, with no setup time needed.

What angles can I cut with Grindermate?

Grindermate has guides for 45 degree angled cuts and straight half brick cuts.

Can brick dust accumulate in the corners or edges of the jig and make it harder to hold the brick in place?

No – Grindermate has a trough a the back of the jig to collect brick dust with no impact on brick positioning. Just knock it empty between cuts.

What size cutting blades is it compatible with?

Grindermate has been designed to work primarily with 9″ and 12″ disc blades.

Will it stay in place on uneven ground on site?

Grindermate is designed for safe site use. The mitre block has “teeth” underneath it which dig into the ground, preventing it from sliding along and holding it stable while you cut.

Why not just hold the brick down with my foot while I cut it?

Site safety is an issue and while there is nothing stopping you holding the brick with your foot, using a cutting jig like Grindermate is a far safer option, rather than holding the brick with a rotating blade buzzing right next to your toes.
