Chapin 1280 & 1380 Instruction Manual

The Chapin 1380 Instruction Manual provides essential guidance for the safe assembly, operation and maintenance of the Chapin 1180, 1253, 1280 and 1380 Premier Series Sprayers. Designed for professional and home use, these sprayers deliver durable, high-performance results for applying sealants, cleaners, and a variety of liquid treatments.

Product Overview

Chapin Premier Series Sprayers are built for long-lasting use, featuring heavy-duty steel tanks coated with a corrosion-resistant Tri-Poxy® lining. Each model includes a reinforced hose, adjustable brass nozzle, and a comfortable pump handle for smooth pressurisation and control.

The Chapin 1380 model has an 11.2-litre (3-gallon) tank and FKM seals for enhanced chemical resistance, making it ideal for use with concrete sealers, cleaning chemicals and other compatible liquids.

Key Features

  • Durable steel tank with Tri-Poxy® interior coating

  • FKM seals for superior chemical compatibility

  • Brass nozzle adjustable from fine mist to coarse stream

  • Lockable shut-off handle for fatigue-free spraying

  • Reinforced hose and brass wand for reliable performance

  • Easy to fill, clean and maintain

Assembly & Operation

  1. Hose Connection: Attach the hose to the tank outlet and tighten the clamp securely.

  2. Nozzle Assembly: Screw the brass nozzle onto the wand and attach the wand to the shut-off handle.

  3. Pre-Use Check: Inspect the hose, pump and fittings for any signs of wear or damage. Replace parts only with genuine Chapin components.

  4. Filling: Unscrew the pump handle, add your prepared spray solution, and avoid overfilling.

  5. Pressurising: Pump the handle until resistance is felt, then lock the handle in place.

  6. Spraying: Adjust the nozzle to your preferred spray pattern and begin spraying evenly. Re-pump as needed to maintain pressure.

  7. Pressure Release: Turn the handle counterclockwise to release air before opening the tank.

Maintenance & Storage

  • Rinse the tank, hose and wand thoroughly after each use.

  • Flush the discharge system with clean water to prevent clogging.

  • Lubricate the pump rod with light oil periodically.

  • Store the sprayer upside down with the pump removed in a dry environment.

  • Inspect regularly for rust, dents or corrosion and replace worn seals as required.

Safety Information

Always wear gloves, goggles and appropriate protective clothing. Do not spray flammable, caustic or corrosive solutions. Never leave the sprayer pressurised or exposed to direct sunlight after use.
